Noel's AFO braces

Noel has been in physical therapy now for 7 months and is doing AMAZING! She is just about to graduate out of the program! She is still not 100% up to doing what other kids her age are doing, but she is getting closer and closer everyday!

She is still wearing her AFO, Ankle Foot Orthosis, braces everyday, just about all day long.

For those of you that haven't seen these, here ya go!  These are her braces! They go over her socks and go up just to her calf. 

Here is her cute little foot in the brace! 

 And her she is, all buckled up! 

Noel's pediatrician thinks that she doesn't need to wear the braces anymore. Her physical therapist thinks she might need to wear them until she is 8 years old. Hmmmmm . . . those two ideas don't work together!

So, we took Noel to a podiatrist for a third opinion. He said that she definitely still needs some support due to the bones in her feet collapsing when she walks with no support. He suggested a shoe insert! This will allow her ankles to no longer be restricted. We are are going to have her fitted tomorrow with her new inserts! We will update with more pics once we get the inserts and some new shoes!
